New Dates Coming 2026 Re-Wombing Exhibition
Austin, TX - Los Angeles, CA - Chicago, IL
“Re-Wombing” is an experiential textile sculpture by Paige Stewart that acts as an amplifier for healing. This large-scale installation will travel to cities across the country, transforming each site into both an artwork and a living container for renewal. In every location, a circle of local healers, curatives, and activators will be gathered to design and guide programming in conjunction with the womb, ensuring that the work is continually alive, responsive, and rooted in the community where it lands.
Throughout the duration of each installation, Re-Wombing is activated through diverse offerings that create deeper opportunities for transformation. Programming may include guided meditations, fertility awareness practices, creativity and womb workshops, postpartum healing circles, explorations of childhood and mother wounds, writing sessions around stillbirth and miscarriage, hysterectomy support, ecstatic dance, and soul retrieval rituals. These experiences invite participants to engage with the work both individually and collectively, opening space for dialogue, reflection, and shared healing.
At its core, Re-Wombing is a portal—a threshold of becoming. The womb is the original liminal space, a passage that brings life into the world. To enter it again with intention is to step into a sacred process of remembrance and reintegration, where the stories of birth, loss, and becoming can be met with presence. In this way, the installation becomes more than a place of comfort; it is a sustained opportunity for profound transformation, a return to origins that makes possible the emergence of a new, more integrated self.
Testimonials
In my work as a Reiki Healer and Spiritual Advisor, I know first hand the importance of revisiting and clearing the energies associated with the root chakra; all of humanity is born from the sacred space of the womb and therefore we all have an origin story here. Paige Stewart has created an actual portal for us to contemplate our humanity, to realize the epic power of the womb and all it represents, all while offering space for us to connect back to this Source through our hearts. It moved me to tears. When you leave, you will be thanking her for the honor, the gift, of having experienced it for yourself.

Fort-like wonder meets a feeling of being held and safe in this giant fabric womb. At the time I experienced the womb, I was pregnant with my daughter. It was fun to connect with her in this way. While I was cozily wrapped in a blanket in the beautifully intricate fabric womb, I imagined my own womb creating a quiet and peaceful environment for her to grow strong, imaginative, and joyous. What a gift! My thoughts turned to all the mothers who have come before me - a long line of women who have lived lives vastly different from my own; however, we have more in common than not because we all came from the common ground of a womb. The fabric womb is a visceral reminder of our connection to one another. A reminder that we can be nourished, healed, and reborn at any point in our lives.

Paige Stewart’s “Re-Wombing” creation was a sacred experience for me. Her beautiful piece of art carried a wonderful intention and felt like a global healing as well as individual. I was able to participate a few times within the womb room and each time it brought a sense of connection and completion. I highly recommend personally experiencing this work of art to help balance your emotional, physical, spiritual, and/or mental well-being.

The entire experience of Paige Stewart‘s ReWombing exhibition is a rebirth. Not only the womb itself, which is a triumph, but also the community experiences, workshops, and talks. Sitting in Paige‘s cozy studio, drinking tea with other women in the presence of a giant womb-shaped pink-and red-elephant in the room, you can not help but be present to the long lines of lineage we have all travelled through to arrive here together. There’s a sense of belonging, of coming home. Tears are shed, secrets unveiled, mysteries plumbed. The very presence of this fabric womb creates space for profound healing. And it is a beautiful piece to look at, inside and outside. Crawl inside on your hands and knees, be humbled, lay down on the plush memory foam floor and take in the light, red through the panels of fabric, falling on your body, and you are called backwards into the echo of a memory you didn’t know you had. Surrendered to its power, and be transformed inside the great Alchemizer.
